Why would a student see someone in the counseling team?<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Academic\/Educational Counseling<\/strong><\/em>\u2013 Students sometimes have academic problems in areas including study habits, expectations, time management, organizational skills, and the level of the curriculum.\u00a0 A counselor may assist students in exploring solutions to these and other academic problems.<\/li>\n
  2. Career\/Vocational Counseling<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013<\/em>From K-12 grade it\u2019s important to explore, engage and empower students about what they enjoy in life. This will help guide them in their future plans. As a school counselor, along with teachers and other staff, we will engage your students in exploring different careers, colleges, vocational opportunities and much more to help them feel empowered and ready for the future.<\/li>\n
  3. Personal\/Social Counseling<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0<\/em>Can assist students to develop skills to interact more effectively with others, identify personal values, talents and interests and transition into and out of elementary to middle school and from middle school to high school. The counselor will also provide support and assistance to students and families in crisis and can provide referrals to outside agencies for more extensive assistance including counseling, evaluations or treatment.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    If your student needs to see a counselor, their teacher can fill out the referral form or you can send an email to one of our counseling team members.<\/strong><\/p>\n
